    What is a temperature in a child?

    This depends a little bit on where the temperature is taken.  In a child it is best to take the temperature under the arm or in the ear.

    Forehead strips are not very accurate.

    if you invest in anything for a child, a decent thermometer is vital so do your research.

    A normal temperature is between 36.3 and 37.5.  Anything over 37.5 is a temperature but it is advised to treat temperatures over 38.

    It is important to monitor the temperature when a child is ill and give either paracetamol or ibuprofen to bring it down because the brain of a small child can not regulate their temperature until the hypothalamus is fully developed at the age of around 5.
