Natasha's Law came into force in 2021 following her death in 2016 when she ate food which contained her allergen which was not labelled. This law aims to improve food labelling increasing the safety of those who suffer from food allergies
5 - 8% of children suffer severe food allergies and there are 2 million people in the country with food allergies
Current food labelling can be unclear and misleading increasing the risk of death among those with allergies
There are 14 which needed to be labelled on food. Here are some of them:
Nuts,
Tree Nuts
Dairy
Shellfish
Fish
Eggs,
Soya.
