Anaphylaxis is a sudden, severe, and potentially fatal, allergic reaction. Symptoms can occur within minutes of contact with the allergy-causing substance. Anaphylactic reactions can be mild to life threatening. It is becoming more common in schools with increasing levels of young people being diagnosed with allergies
Anyone who is responsible for the care of anyone who may suffer anaphylaxis; I.e. Nursery Nurses, Childminders, Youth Workers, School teachers.
The course will last approximately 1.5 hours and can be delivered to larger groups of staff as part of an annual update
There is no final exam for this course, the instructor will carry out continuous assessment and candidates receive a certificate of attendance valid for 1 year.
