When working face to face with the public, either in a gym or public venue it is important to have first aid training to fully meet the needs of your clients.
We offer open first aid courses and can deliver on site for larger groups. We can deliver both first aid at work (3 days) and Emergency First Aid at Work (one day course). All our courses include the use of AEDs and are certified for 3 years.
Our courses are practical and hands on while complying with the latest guidelines on infection control.
If you need to update your certificate or have recently qualified as a fitness instructor we can discuss our courses with no obligation to book.
With excellent customer feedback from previous courses we keep our group sizes small. Our trainers are professional and approachable. With a mixture of both practical and written assessments we cater for all learning styles and our courses can be tailored to meet the needs of the customer.
Our aim is that you when you attend training you will leave feeling confident in your skills so that you could use them in the event of an emergency, and I have had real like feedback of when skills I have taught have saved lives.
Following your initial enquiry, you can book either a group course at a venue which you provide or attend one of our open courses which run throughout the year at a variety of venues.
Group sizes are small and never exceed the maximum recommended ratio of learners to trainers.
There is plenty of time to practise and be assessed on your practical skills, as first aid is about the skills we learn being effective to save a life, and our friendly trainers will do their best to put your mind at ease and answer any questions.

This depends a little bit on where the temperature is taken. In a child it is best to take the temperature under the arm or in the ear.
Forehead strips are not very accurate.
if you invest in anything for a child, a decent thermometer is vital so do your research.
A normal temperature is between 36.3 and 37.5. Anything over 37.5 is a temperature but it is advised to treat temperatures over 38.
It is important to monitor the temperature when a child is ill and give either paracetamol or ibuprofen to bring it down because the brain of a small child can not regulate their temperature until the hypothalamus is fully developed at the age of around 5.
